John Stirling Meyer, M.D., C.M., B.S., M.Sc., F.A.N.A., F.A.A.N., F.A.H.A. is a world-renowned specialist in the field of Neurology and Neuropsychology.

He has provided expert testimony in several hundred legal cases involving Stroke, Ruptured Aneurysm, Alzheimer's Disease, Head Injuries, Dementia and sub-standard care in neurological diseases. Dr. Meyer has published thirty books and nine hundred articles concerning his specialty and is Emeritus Professor of the Neurology Department at Baylor College of Medicine.

In Dr. Meyer’s long career as a Neurologist, there are four accomplishments that stand out. He was Chair of the Stroke Panel in President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Commission on Heart Disease Care and Stroke. He also won two prestigious awards including the Harold G. Wolff Award (3 times) in migraine headache research and the Mihara International Award in Tokyo, Japan for research in stroke. Dr. Meyer also was the first Neurologist to use TPA, the “clot buster,” to treat acute hemorrhagic stroke. In his practice, Dr. Meyer has consulted on many varieties of medical cases including acute stroke, both thrombotic and hemorrhagic, ruptured brain aneurysm, Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia, Mental Competence in Probate Matters, and has performed many IMEs.

As a retired Professor Emeritus of Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Meyer is now in full-time practice at United Neurology with his partner, Mohammed Athari, M.D.
