About John S. Meyer, M.D., M.D., C.M., MSc., ANA, AHA, FAAN

Dr. Meyer is Emeritus Professor of Neurology and was formerly Chairman of the Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine.  He is now in private practice at United Neurology.  He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, American Board of Headache Specialists, American Board of Disability Physicians.

He is the author of 29 textbooks of medical neurology (3 editions), cerebral anoxia, ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, cerebral circulation, cerebral vascular disease, dementia, cerebrovascular dementia, thrombolytic therapy of ischemic strokes.

Dr. Meyer has been the principal investigator of 30 different new clinical drug trials of treatment of Alzheimer's Dementia, Vascular Dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Migraine, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Stroke Prevention, Subarachnoid Hemorrhage treatment with Nimodipine and treatment of Ischemic Stroke with thrombolyde agents and anti-platelet agents.

With thirty years experience as a medical expert witness in both State and Federal Courts, Dr. Meyer has reviewed hundreds of case records, depositions and trial testimony.

Personal Information:

Born in London, England, Dr. Meyer attended Westminster School in Westminster Abbey founded by Queen Elizabeth I around 1600. He obtained a scholarship to Kent School, Kent, Connecticut, U.S.A. and obtained his premedical education and B.S. at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.

Dr. Meyer and his wife, Cora Bess, love to travel and have been all over the world. They are both avid golfers.
